12" X 12" Le Ballon Blue Fern Studios Layout

Since I'm usually the one taking photos in my family, photos of me are rather rare, but I wanted to commemorate my 50th birthday with a layout and I liked this recent photo of myself.

The blue tones accented my blue eyes beautifully in this Le Ballon print from the Blue Fern Studios' Autumn Anthology Collection.

On the background I speckled some Before Dawn Shimmerz Vibez, Kissing Kenicky Coral Flat Fabio Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and my Sharpie white paint marker. I also added some Graphite Grey Texturez paste with a TCW 6" X 6" Mini Window Screen stencil.

I used some Yasumoto Metallic Watercolour Paints to add an extra touch of colour to the texture as well as my wooden birdcage and FabScraps chipboard pieces that I had prepped with some molding paste.

I used a couple of square doilies and layered some Calling Cards from both the Autumn Anthology and Frolic Collections as well as a pieces of the Newswothy and Dans le Jardin prints from each respective collection.

I added a finishing touch using a few clusters of Petaloo and Recollections flowers to frame the photo.

12" X 12" Dans Le Jardin Layout - Blue Fern Studios

Couldn't help it....every time I look at this layout that song pops into my head!!

And this is my blue-eyed, blue-tongue-tattoed baby girl! LOL
I found these candy tongue tattoos that I knew she would love so I got them for her next visit at Nana's house.

On this Le Jardin print from the Blue Fern Studios Frolic Collection I used some Prima Color Bloom Spray Mist in Cotton Candy, Peony & Summer Sky.

I used a Christy Tomlinson She Art Vintage Lace stencil with some Golden Molding Paste and colored it with the sprays as welll as Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Stormy Sky and Spun Sugar.

I made a couple of flower clusters using a variety of different Prima Flowers and Marion Smith blossoms and added a bling swirl at opposing corners of the photo. I used one of the Frolic Calling Cards from Blue Fern Studio collection as a journaling spot.

Perhaps one of my favourite aspects of this layout is the way I cut strips from the Le Jardin print of the Frolic collection. I followed the wavy pattern to cut the strips and fussy-cut some butterflies and adhered a few to the strips for a dimensional look. Finally, I added  some Stickles to the butterflies and flowers for an extra little sparkle.

12" X 12" Prima Royal Menagerie Layout - Wild & Free

I thought this picture of my (then 3-yr-old) granddaughter enjoying wild strawberries from my backyard was perfect for the Prima Royal Menagerie paper collection.

I used the following the November My Creative Sketch as my inspiration.

For my background I used the Penny For Your Thoughts patterned paper that I applied Golden Molding Paste to using the Decor #1, 6"X 6" Prima Stencil.

I used Prima Color Bloom Sprays in Summer Sky and Peony and Maya Road Maya Mist in Cream Metallic. I also used Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar Distress Inks to add some colour to the molding paste texture.

I printed this photo with the white border because I like the way it frames it. As a base for the photo I layered the Prima Royal Menagerie Saltwater, Bicycle Built for Two and Queen For The Day patterned papers.

I used stickers from the We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection at the right side and top corner of the layered papers, I also used a couple of the Simple Stories So Fancy Photo gold Stickers as tiny accent pieces.

I finished the overall look of the layout with some Prima Flowers from the Cigar Box Secrets Culebra, Symphony Blend Amoroso Pink, Sugar Blooms Colsparkling collections,

Caught Having Fun! 12" X 12" Bella Blvd Layout

I love this picture of my little peanut! She was playing contentedly, and when her Mom checked in on her she found her wearing this Rasta wig from her dress-up hoard, so naturally she snapped some pictures.

I thought the bright colors of the following Bella Blvd paper collections were a perfect compliment to the fun nature of the photo itself.

From the Spring Flings and Easter Things collection, I chose #365 Sunny Day for the base of my layout. To frame the photo I cut both sides of #364 Mom's Bouquet with some Top Note Diemond Dies.

I also used print #356 from the Winter Wonder collection with some Becky Higgins Project Life dies to cut out a 3" X 4"  journaling card with a ruled spot. The same print and its flip side was used with some scalloped cardstock stickers from Spring Flings and Easter Things to border the left side of the layout.

Also, using the Project Life dies and both prints from Mom's Bouquet I cut some tiny hearts and arrows to accent the page.

The lettering is from the Spring Flings and Easter Things cardstock sheet  and the word fun sits on circles cut from #318B You're a Hoot, from the Finally Fall collection.  Maya Road Bliss Inspiration Rub-ons were also used as part of the title and for added flowery elements.

Finally, I added some Prima flowers and Petaloo velvet leaves with a Prima butterfly looking for a little bit of sweet nectar.

12" X 12" Blue Fern Studios Layout - Born 2 Ride

I am fast becoming Blue Fern Studio's biggest fan! Each of their paper collections is just better than the last, it is now by far my FAVOURITE paper, the thick quality is is second to none, it takes sprays and other mediums very well without warping or bending. It's a an awesome paper to work with, I simply love it!

I prepped my page from the Sanctuary collection with some Finnabair Modeling Paste using a flourishy damask-type Prima stencil. I then swiped some Spun Sugar distress ink across the raised surface. I edged my different layers of papers and cardstocck with a touch of Broken China distress ink

I used various Prima flowers and a Prima butterfly to adorn the bottom right and top left corners of the main photo in the layout, and added some Iguana Thickers for my title..

12" X 12| Prima Debutante Layout - Birthday Girl

I haven't scrapbooked using Prima paper in a long time, but I couldn't resist using the Debutante Collection for my granddaughter's 4th birthday layout. She's growing up way too fast!!

I paper-pieced a Prima Julie Nutting Mixed Media Doll Stamp, Olive, and used my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to color her face, hair and skin. I used a tiny flower button in her hair then added a peice of tulle to her skirt with a tiny pearl buckle and finished her look with a couple of sequins on top of her shoes. I adhered her to the left side of the layout,

I sprayed the  paper from the collection with Prima Color Bloom in Peony then layered three different patterns from the Debutante collection before I mounted the photo on the Blue Fern Studio Jeweled Frame that I altered with a coat of gesso followed by a light coat of acrylic paint that I sponged on for texture. I also tucked little bits of lace that I gathered to look like tiny flowers topped with Prima Say it in Crystals gems.

The flower cluster at the top right corner are various Prima blooms. I used a "happy" ATC card on the right side of the photo opposite the Prima doll to add balance to the layout and finally, the ruled journaling card  at the bottom right corner is matted with a pink cardstock and topped with a matching chipboard piece from the paper collection. The white glittery lettering used for the title are Shoebox thickers by American Crafts.

12" X 12" Blue Fern Studios Layout - Two Little Ladies

I have simply fallen head-over-heels for Blue Fern Studios papers!! It's so easy when the very basis of your scrapbook layout inspires you from the moment you lay your eyes on it.

The Frolic collection by Blue Fern Studios has such a romantic shabby-chic feel to it, which is right up my alley. It captured this moment so perfectly!

I used the Adorn sheet as my base, which I splattered using the Color Bloom Spray Mist in Cotton Candy and a white Sharpie paint marker.

I built upon the page using the cut strip from the bottom of the page with the Secretary print mid-page, then using some of the pieces I cut into banners from the Calling Card sheet, I inked the edges with pink ink and staggered them along the strip. Next I tucked a pretty little lace that I had left over from a previous kit just beneath the paper strip and topped it with a tiny flat-back pink pearl trim that I used again at the top of the page.

Underneath the strip of trim I staggered some banners that I created using one of the Calling Card pieces as well as some bits from the Amoros print at the top left-hand corner.

I used Snow-Tex on the Blue Fern Studios Frills Panel to create extra texture on the piece before I used it as a photo mat for this picture lovely of my grand-daughter and great-niece.

Three little strips of the Mercantile print, again making good use of the prints on the page bottoms, I used these as journaling to accompany the photo.

I then title the page on the left-hand side using a script font on my computer, then sporadically added some Say It In Crystals sparkly gem embellishments along with some Prima Nikko-Danno and Pearl Panache Blue Moon flowers as well as some pretty Marion Smith flowers, one of which I saturated with the Cotton Candy spray for and extra pop of color.

A tiny pearl spray tucked in behind a cluster of flowers on the bottom right of the page added a finishing touch to the page.

That Smile ~ 12" X 12" Tropical Punch Kaisercraft Layout

This little girl is the apple of her Nana's eye! And when she flashes me that smile, I just melt into a puddle.

For my background I chose Sunny, a sheet from the Tropical Punch collection. I used a Rebekah Meier 6"X 6" stencil by TCW to add a little texture. Next I spritzed a square doily with some Lindy's Flat Fabio sprays in Tilt-a-Wheel-Teal and Plumeria Pink, with just a touch of  Shimmerz Pop Art Pink.

I matted the doily with the Fun Times print from the collection and edged with some Martha Stewart punches and placed it diagonally opposite the doily. I cut into the Cocktail print with a Floral Oval Spellbinders die to mat the Prima Invild Bolme Shabby Chic Treasures resin frame that I glittered with some Frosted Lace Stickles. I placed a tiny resin flower to accentuate the bottom of the frame.

At the bottom right of the layout, I added a few sticker elements from the coordinating Tropical Punch sticker sheet, including some of the flowers that I fussy-cut and tucked in beneath my flower cluster of several different Prima collections, including Free Spirit and Cigar Box. A few snippets of dangling lace trim were also tucked in for added dimension and texture to the overall piece.

Playing with this Tropical collection has been a fun and welcome break to this cold and harsh crux of winter.

Milk Bubbles ~ Kaisercraft Tropical Punch 12" X 12" Layout

My camera is always at hand when my granddaughter visits and there was no way I could resist her blowing bubbles in her tall glass of fresh milk, especially when she told me that her mamma didn't let her blow bubbles at home...of course everyone knows that anything (well, almost anything) goes at Nana's house.

I always look forward to receiving my monthly Limited Edition kit, and this month's kit with Kaisercraft's colorful Tropical Punch collection was the perfect choice for this layout, so I decided to give the monthly challenge over at My Creative Sketches once again.

Following the layout I matted the photo with the Pineapple and Orange Dotted prints and framed them with staggered strips from the Bubbles sheet.  A Top Note die cut shape from the Sunny pattern protrudes from the left side on top of the photo with a tiny tag tucked in behind, and a piece of doily border from the coordinating sticker sheet tops the left side of the photo.

I created bubbles with a photo and three different prints from the paper collection to sit above my "Milk Bubbles" title in glittery SoirĂ©e Dear Lizzy thickers.

Behind a cluster of Prima flowers from the Free Spirit and Divine collections and a couple of tiny orange mulberry and tulle flowers I tucked in a few beaded strands in coordinating colors.

Beneath the photo I painted a Dear Lizzy watercolor word "Love this" with some Ranger's Perfect Pearls in the Bubblegum color. And finally, the bottom strip was stenciled with some Victorian Velvet Tim Holtz Distress Ink and the Chevron Mister Huey mask by Studio Calico that was included in this month's kit.

I almost feel like a kid again when I get to create a fun layout with such a vibrant and vivid paper collection like Tropical Punch, I hope you enjoy it too!

Silly Face

To showcase my granddaughter sunny disposition I waned to take some pictures of her sitting on a bench near a bouquet of lovely blooms but I couldn't get her to be serious long enough so I decided to 'go with it' and have her make silly faces for the camera!

As a background for my 12" X 12" layout I used a sheet called Caffeine Fix from the Prima Coffee Break collection that I sprayed (Shimmerz Pop Art Pink, Lindy's Flat Fabio Tilt-a-Wheel-Teal), splattered  and randomly painted with Shimmerz  Frosty Got The Blues, Under The Sea, Blue By You(Shimmerz, Blingz, Pearlz), white acrylic paint, stenciled with a Memory Box stencil with texture paste, and stamped with a coordinating Coffee Break clear acrylic stamp. Then I layered some strips of Ride and Hopper papers from the American Crafts Shimelle collection.

Sweeping down the right side of the layout I placed a piece of lace at the top corner of the first photo, a Bo Bunny Kraft Wood Shape flourish, some Webster's Pages lettering, a couple of Coffee Break journaling cards and ephemera pieces downward to the bottom corner where a lovely cluster of pink flowers were placed with tiny pieces of lace trim and doodad flowers were tucked around the cluster.

Moving back upward to the left side of the layout I used another wooden flourish, a pink crocheted doily cut in half topped with a couple of blingie gems and acrylic flowers are nestled against a wooden frame topped with  tiny spoon and cup charms, more lace trim and a couple more Prima
flowers and tiny clay rose.
