12 X 12 Kaisercraft Be-YOU-tiful Layout - Seriously Playful

With my granddaughter so 'hard at play' in these colorful photos I knew I wanted to highlight them with an equally colorful paper collection, and Kaisercraft's Be-YOU-tiful collection was just perfect!

To begin, I matted the photos with two different prints from the collection and used the packaging from the gorgeous Prima corner bling with some texture paste because I thought the flourish patterns on the package would emphasize the photos, and the bottom corner of the left-hand photo, of course, was framed with said Prima bling. A small cluster of Prima Cigar Box Secret, some fabric and mulberry flowers and a lovely butterfly from the accompanying sticker sheet adorn the top corner of photo. For the title I used some Iguana Thickers by American Crafts

I folded a journaling card in half and added a tiny flower sticker as a tab to pull it open from beneath the little yellow butterfly sticker I added at the corner of the bottom photo.

At the bottom right-hand side of the layout I added some more tiny mulberry flowers, a big yellow bloom from the Prima Lady Bird collection and a lovely mulberry Prima rose from the Cigar Box Colection.

On the left side of the photo I added a 6-inch piece of border strip from the Be-YOU-tiful sticker sheet and edged the entire layout with a yellow organza ribbon beneath a delicate white scalloped lace trim..

Snow Much Fun! 12 X 12 Kaisercrafts Yultide Layout

I thought I'd try a sketch with my December MyCreativeScrapbook Kit because I wanted to showcase these special photos of my grand daughter enjoying herself with her Poppa as he pulled her on this vintage sled I bought that apparently has some life left as it is still quite sturdy, at least enough to pull my little bug around for a ride or two.

For the base of my layout I used a Kaisercraft patterned paper from the Yultide Collection then added two other different prints before I lay my two photos down. I then added a few strips from a border sheet on the right side of the photos.

Pennants from a Teresa Collins Tinsel and Company sticker sheet separate the two photos and I added a resin holly & berries Prima Holiday Jubilee piece that I colored with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink then sprinkled with some Donna Salazar Pralines and Cream Fairy Dust glitter before I heat-set them.

At the top left-hand corner of the layout I used a couple of beautiful burgundy Sugared Blooms from Petaloo's Botanical Collection with a couple of  leaves tucked underneath them and a red Poinsettia from their Textured Elements collection. I also added a "joy" chipboard sticker from the Teresa Collins Tinsel And Co.

Just below the flowers I snipped a sentiment from the Yuletide collection which I positioned on half a paper doily I added some Teresa Collins Tinsel and Co.chipboard letters and some Marquise Thickers for the title at the bottom left corner of the layout. I dusted them as well as the chipboard word sticker and the flowers with Sno-Tex for added texture on my fun layout.

I hope you enjoy!

~A Vintage Noel~Zeus & Zoe DT Project

The 'Vintage/Rustic look' seems to be the 'in-thing' this year. I'd say I was just following the trend, but the truth is the whole look/feel is a choice I made for the new decor in my own living room. When it came to choosing a table set to go with my new sofa and chair, I went with what I liked, what felt warm and natural, what made me feel happy.

For my project this month I knew I wanted to make a Christmas banner, and it was easy once I decided to use the canvas banner pieces that came in my Zeus and Zoe   Design Team Package as a base.

I coffee-dyed some curtaining fabric and doilies, then covered the banners with the curtaining lace fabric to give the piece added texture and dimension. I cut a large doily in wedges to use as the last layer of the fringed edge of the banner topped with four different vintage laces, including a lovely traditional tatted trim edged in a nice festive green color.

A smaller doily added to the centers of the banner pieces then topped with red glittered chipboard letters spelling "Noel" that I altered with some Donna Salazar Pralines and Cream fine glitter and some Lindy's Stamp Gang Steampunk Sepia Starburst Spray to give it a darker, more vintage look.

I alternated little white felt snowflakes and green holly leaves on the tops and bottoms of the banner for an added embellishment as well as tiny ribbon carnation flowers added to each top corner that I sprayed with some Lindy's Café au Lait Flat Fabio Spray and dabbed with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink to get them close to the Fig Brown color of the seam binding used to string the banner pieces together.

I absolutely LOVE the striking effect this beautiful banner has against the dark red color of my living room walls, it was the perfect touch to my decor and will become a lovely vintage piece that can be cherished for generations to come.

I hope you enjoy my project and I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with health and happiness!
